THE NEW VERMOUTH SISET OF MASCARÓ IS ALREADY IN THE MARKET
After a year of hard work has finally come to market our vermouth “Siset”.
This premium vermouth honours Narcís Mascaró Marcé, the founder of our company and grandfather of Montserrat Mascaró, current winemaker and director of MASCARÓ.
Mr. Narciso, culturally very restless man, he was familiarly known as “Siset”. His two great passions were art and history. This aesthetic sense let him to develop a very inspired cava and distillates in the good work he discovered in his travels to France. Thus began the distillation of “holandas” for making Brandys with charentais copper stills to use creating a classic and elegant style that is the hallmark of our distillates.
The Siset vermouth is made from white wine of Parellada grape variety we planted on our vineyard Mas Miquel, in Aiguamúrcia, which was formerly owned by the Cistercian monks from the nearby monastery of Santes Creus. This wine is fortified with aged “holandas” of Narciso brandy, made from the variety “Ugni Blanc” and is flavoured with herbs and spices including wormwood which gives the most characteristic taste, the bitterness. Also it is added ginger, orange peel and other botanicals that are the secret of this vermouth original formula.
“Siset” label comes with a vintage style that recalls the tradition and modernity and which includes a small picture with the original cartoon Siset grandfather. This cartoon was made in 1951 by cartoonist Romà Bonet, known as “Bon”.
Make vermouth is a moment of conviviality with family and friends and it is a very Mediterranean habit. Do not hesitate and enjoy this summer with a vermouth “Siset”!
